Medical Treatments
Following the diagnosis, an individual therapeutic plan is prepared by a multidisciplinary professional team made up of a sleep specialist, a physiotherapist, a psychologist, a nutritionist and a trainer.
This plan takes into account the subject total state of health, physical condition circadian profile and professional and lifestyle patterns - a unique healthcare approach in the treatment of sleep disorders.
Medical treatment may include pharmacological and non-pharmacological measures such as physiotherapy, psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy and hypnosis. When indicated, medical devices and equipment such as CPAP and oral devices are used. Often treatment must begin with a detoxification program designed to alleviate the patient’s dependence on drugs in order to sleep or stay awake. In many cases, a weight control program can have a beneficial effect.
The Patient receives counseling designed to help in the management of stress, pain and mild anxiety. At all times the patient is kept informed of the measures being implemented and their desired outcome.
